What Raymond, and the others have said. I know of no clear coating that can handle the UV rays of the sun. Like others have said, 2-4 years tops, before they start to fail. Only pigmented coatings can protect properly. Latex paint is my preference. I do however, have a south facing sandblasted redwo...

I too am an advocate of MDO. I like being able to cut it to any size and shape easily. I like the look of an MDO sign over an aluminum sign because it has some thickness (albeit only 1/2, or 3/4", but thicker than aluminum) I can get MDO locally for $60 a sheet, and it is top quality. I seal th...

Thanks Mike. A good friend of mine had been doing the tutorials at lynda.com, and he said they are well done. He also has been doing the Photoshop one. I have been out and about riding my bicycle in the little town I live in of Peru NY. The town has been around since 1792, with a rich tradition of M...

Mike,

The site looks fantastic.

The photos are just awesome.

The scenery is just spectacular.

Wow.

What web design software did you use? What class/tutorial are you using?

Thanks in advance.

Peace out,
Bob

It's actually the gold being scratched (very fine scratches) that comes from the velvet. Size should always be brushed on nice and thin. If the size is too thick, it will stay soft for a long time, and when it is "spun", it could smear with the gold. So if the size was brushed on nice and ...

Mike, those photos are magnificent! Thanks so much for sharing them. Not to go too far off topic, but,... How is the D70 holding up? I know this has been hashed, and re-hashed, but I have been tossing back and forth between getting a Nikon D70, or a Canon 20D. I have a few Canon lenses from my A1, s...

Mike, go to a one hour photo, or the film drop-off area of a local drug store, or dept store. I'm sure you can get all you need.

Peace out,
Bob

The leaves are changing in the Adirondacks, and there is some frost here and there. I am going to do some hiking in the high peaks of the Adirondacks tomorrow. I will definately have the camera in tow. The leaves should be ripe at about 4,000 ft. Yes winter is coming, and the changes in the weather ...
