Re: Material Advice
Lois, material availability depends on what's available in your location. UK? A few suggestions: 1 marine ply, 2 fin ply, aka Russian fin ply, both laminated ply with no voids (solid wood). 3 Have a local mill fabricate to your specs depending on availability locally. To find a mill in your area, co...

Re: Material Advice
HI Lois,
need some clarification: checking several conversion sites, all come up 23 cm equals 9.05 inches. Do you mean 2.3, which equals .905 inch?
Somethings not right, please confirm.
Thanks,
Danny

Re: Buying Asphaltum in the UK - question 2019
There was a post a while back by Doug Berhardt on this forum that suggested Bitumen, a material used in the UK that serves the same purpose. In the US, a company by the name of Henry's makes caulking and roof sealers in quarts and gallons. One of their products was 108, and I believe Rick re package...

Hi Anthony, I'm actually doing fine for the time being, taste / desire to eat greatly improved once chemo stopped. Had 1 kidney partially removed 3-4 months ago, but was determined the cancers returned. The treatment for that is to have the cancerous kidney removed. Again, doing fine for now, making...

Jamie, best black back up paint is Naz Dar screen paint ink, FDE = fast dry enamel; can be thinned to brush on (screen print inks are thicker than 1 shot) and can be used out of the can for screen printing. If Naz Dar doesn't have it try Ink Dezyne both available from screen printing companies, some...

Hi David, the image you've posted is too soft to be certain, but I'd guess it's been acid etched. A quick search on this forum for acid etching and embossing gives this result: https://www.handletteringforum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=2785&p=13560&hilit=acid+etching+vs+acid+embossing#...

For those in North America, Pierre d'Argent goes by the name Shadazzle available through Amazon; both are one and the same.
https://www.shadazzlecleaner.com/
It's also great for cleaning gold off of glass after backing up w/ paint, and is less abrasive than whiting and ammonia or Bon Ami.

Re: Is it Safe? Bronze on Marble Headstone
John's suggestion is good, and would provide some valuable information. I'd clear coat the bronze plaque rather than treating the marble. In addition, check with a local auto body supply that carries automotive paint, and ask for some water white, pre catalyzed spray, available in spray cans. Using ...

At one time they were separate companies, but Sophisticated (Triangle Coatings) bought out Modern Masters long ago. Both products consist of a latex carrier with real, atomized metal...

Doug, my thoughts exactly, I've had similar problems. I'd guess the horizontal lines came from either the side slats on the delivery truck, or something that was stacked with the delivery, or during installation. As they were thoroughly examined prior to delivery, the marks were likely made after it...

Vitaly, what is your primary language? The Ukrainian word for varnish is лак. Varnish is used as a clear adhesive to adhere the print directly to the glass. Another method is to mount the illustration to matt board, or stiff, thin paper, and tape behind the opening. The photo displays a digital prin...
