Looks great! What is it painted on?

In that Tom Moore Cigar Sign and in a few other signs Ive seen I have noticed the portraits in there. I am still trying to learn the gold leafing process and I was curious on how you get this picture in there like that.

Thanks, I used a scaffold. I did a few letters and came down and moved the scaffold over and did some more. I have two sides of the building done. I have one side and the windows left to letter and I'll be done.
