using mica powders on glass

several questions, if you please:
is size put on then powders applied?
or
is size mixed with the powders, then applied?
or do you use one-shot clear as the vehicle?

How do you gild over the back of the mica? Oil or water size????
Thanks! :P

Not being at all familiar with acid- do you soak the glass exposing sections at a time to the "darkest" is done first and is in longest? :?:

Glorious glass

Bobbie Rackow sent these to me last night, and my photos don't come close to doing these justice- they are truly magnificent pieces! She's been going full speed ahead after taking the Studden-Webber course at Boise and there are lots of "firsts" in these... Well done, Kid![img

County Fair time

I found out in Pontiac just how lacking my brush skills were, so when I came home I decided to get in some serious practice. This sign does nicely- from a distance... :roll: Tim Barker from the UK is the designer- pattern was traced on- no masks, 4' x 8' with 1-shot:

Very cool idea- good for you! :lol:
Another thought though- how long does the paint mix have to dry before you can paint on the florishes???

glass work at home

It's one thing to do nice work at a workshop where the instructor is watching out for mis-steps, and quite another to try it at home, on your own! But that's how you learn... (again, the orange is just the backdrop for the photo)
