gall dern shorpy again
A fine fella sent this one to me today...
http://www.shorpy.com/node/9482
I reckon it reminded him of my studio.
I think I'll use that byline on the front door:
"A bohemian lair with lots of flair",
... but, I don't know.

You afraid of reverse painting?
I ain't afraid.
Because I always have good razor blades on hand.

Well Ron,
If you back up about six posts,
you might find out how slow you are.
Fast as Billy Blake?
Nobody.
Perhaps you might join us at the premier of said movie?
you afraid to watch?
I ain't afraid.

Well Sally, I don't give a good gawdamm what anyone says,
I say you still make a helluva good video.
Now why don't you let La Putita Negra take over that town.
One more thing, when you head inside the Green Door Saloon,
make sure you remove that feather.
I got a good idea where you can put it!

my favorite is the 6822, also, because of the many examples of excellent hand lettering, including the showcards for the theatre and the banner, even though there is at least one mispelling, the beauty of each letter, not exactly or perfectly the same as the devil in the plotter would tempt you to p...

Thank you, Mr. Smith.
And Mr. Cooke.
Excellent short film honoring the craft, that certainly won't die now.
I'll be sending the link to all my art friends in the area.
I can say, "That man there, I know him".
First class, Dave.

art is very subjective.
that piece, to me, is one of the finest examples of the various gilding techniques,
excellent combination of engraving and traditional gilding
(is your term for engraving similar to verre' eglomise?)
very beautiful work
thanks for sharing
