Thank you so much. Learning all these techniques about glass without actually seeing a demo can be a pain. This helps a lot.

Re: UV curing chipping glue.

I was thinking the same thing about the chip pattern, it doesnt look quite as nice. But you never know, a little experimenting and it might come out half nice. I was thinking , like Patrick says, that it might be better for touch ups or if time is of the essence. Erik, Please post a follow-up on the...

UV curing chipping glue.

Ran across this web page from a company named Tangent Industries that has a UV light curing glass chipping glue. It claims to work in minutes. Wondering if anyone here has tried this stuff. Seems like it would come in handy in a pinch.

You do know that Ebay charges the seller like 20%, right? If you want to sell out of Ebay, maybe do it straight through paypal or snail mail money order and avoid the Ebay fees.

Re: Commonwealth Varnish...Quick Rub, Fibroseal, WW Spar

This auction is confusing. I would like to buy all of them but how is the shipping done? Is it 10 bucks a pop or each, can shipping be combined?

I think this needs to be reworked and refined just a little.

Great to see these products available, though.

Re: Quills

I have this problem sometimes with my brushes. One of my solutions was to shape the brush handle where it goes into the ferrule so it matches it as close as possible but with a slightly larger diameter higher up on the handle. It takes some work but its not too hard. I do it on my lathe with some sa...

Re: Brush Box/Sign Kit

You can sometimes find some pretty nice boxes on Ebay. I search under vintage tool box or vintage tackle box. I have found a few nice sign painter boxes on there that were listed under tackle box. Most people would never know that it is a sign kit box and they just list them as tool or tackle boxes....

Re: Natural hair brushes and the U.S. parks and wildlife

Sorry to all those I offended by making my original post into part rant about the incident. I was in no way implying anything bad about handover or Wrights of Lymm, I loved their brushes a lot so I ordered one of each quill that Handover offers and a lot from wrights of Lymm, as well. Just wanted to...

I get my first order no prob last Friday and like the brushes a lot so Monday comes and we both place orders for more brushes. Well, he gets a call today from Fedex and was told that is package was seized ...

I was actually going to use them for water coloring. I am always on the lookout for the old vintage brushes, they just work so much better. I think I will do that and go get some cheapo handles.

Old Grumbacher handle-less quills

I was wondering if anyone had a lead on some where to get some brush handles. I bought these on ebay.

I guess I could get some handles off some old brushes but dont have too many spare brushes laying around.

I cannot wait to return to England. Last time I was there, I took a ton of pics, sadly, not too many were of glass, mostly heraldry type bronze sculptures, reliefs and such. That is exactly what I did. The acetone immediately took the glue off so I dipped it in brush oil right away to keep it from drying. I can see how that stuff will make a brush brittle very fast if you dont condition the hairs right away. I tried all kinds of other stuff to try and take the size off ...
