glue-chip problems

I've been working on a version of the Chapman & Smith glass sign. I used asphalum & sand-blasted as usual, then used the squirt bottle to apply the glue. When the glue came off (after drying), it came off pretty much in sheets with very little chipping done at all? How come? I've been findin...

I really glad to hear that a mask can be used- I'm up to my eyeballs in new techniques at the moment and don't have the time just yet to learn silk screening on top of everything else. But I'm sure that's coming!

What do you use as a screen? If you use paint mask, wouldn't it pull the silvering up?

Okay- so how do you "restrain" the silvering? Wouldn't any glue dams or masking foul the just cleaned (with much effort) surface? Forgive me if I'm slow to understand!

So the glass can be painted or water gilded as well as angel gilded before the silvering? What happens when you scrub the glass to clean it? How come this doesn't gum up the paint or water gilding?

Hey! It actually DOES work! I've been putting off even trying the process for months- serious gumption block, but Sarah made it so easy, I had no further excuses, tried it tonight & got 2 decenct mirrors! Now, we're NOT talking Primo, here, but it DOES work! Slick! Maybe I'll even get to the Ang...
