Unlock "Read-Only" Files utility
Hi all, It seems many images copied from a CD to a hard drive will transport over as "read-only". I am looking for a freeware or shareware utility that will change the read-only attribute for a complete folder at one time, instead of having to manually go in and change them one at a time. ...

John, Thanks for taking the time to shoot the photos and supply the text for this thread. Assuming you want to hear them, I have a few comments, not meant to be critical, but more to inform anyone interested. I see a few red flags on this project, even though the newly finished product looks great. ...

Minor update: I changed out the Atkinson Cigar, United Cigar, and added a new page for Gold Rush Cigar this afternoon. I believe the last page left to update are the Artists Profiles...working on them now. If you visited the site earlier, you might need to refresh you pages to get to load the new li...

Rick, I like to err on the safe side and coat the board with the sealer. That assures a good grip for the stencil, especially after lightly sanding the high spots. On raw wood, it is easy to miss a little fine sawdust and get a weak bond. I found it was easier to sand off the laquer than it was to u...

Updated Web Site: Golden Era Studios glass art
http://www.theletterheads.com/signphotos/curtisbarbershop.jpg http://www.goldenstudios.com/indexglass.htm Danny posted the web address for my art glass pieces a while back. Those pages were looking quite dated, so I recreated most of them today, including bigger and brighter photos. I have been pla...

Sub-Surface Lettering
My kids like to skateboard, as mentioned earlier. Over the weekend, we drove over to Boulder for a skate contest and later ended up at the huge Denver outdoor skate park. I went around the park looking over the signs so I could be better armed to talk to our town Mayor, city council members and rec ...

For 95% or more of our sandblasted signs, we simply bought a gallon of laquer sanding sealer at our local lumber yard and applied it with a cheap brush...slopped it on quickly. It is cheaper than some commercial sealers (First Step) and it dries fast and hard. (Also, we did not have to pay shipping ...

Steve, We've used rouge, spanish whiting, and even talcum powder. Overall, we use rouge most and even have it in a Pounce-See box. A quick, fine wipe will put a thin layer down. It usually comes up with a damp cloth later. Of course, the background has to be 100% dry and cured with any product. Mayb...

Danny, Ronan is a competitor of One Shot/Chromatic and Dana. I grew up in Oklahoma City and started business there. Neo Sign Supply was the sign supplier and they carred the full Ronan product line. Maybe fond memories and recollections aren't necessarily tied only to Hand Letterying, but more to select events we were passionate about at the time. Hand lettering a sign might be just one example, while mowing the yard might be an example of an experience we might not commit to long term memory. ...

Rick Glawson's Denver Brewery Tray
http://www.theletterheads.com/glawson/denverbrew1.jpg Danny Baronian sent these two images. The glass piece was a panel Rick Glawson did a long time ago. I believe he brought it to a couple of Letterhead meetings and a few people surely got to see it in person. Others might have the more detailed s...
