Unlock "Read-Only" Files utility

Hi all, It seems many images copied from a CD to a hard drive will transport over as "read-only". I am looking for a freeware or shareware utility that will change the read-only attribute for a complete folder at one time, instead of having to manually go in and change them one at a time. ...

Hi Len, If you can image rolling out a 71 VW bug on a Nascar course, that's similar to where you are sandblasting with a little Sears blaster. When you get the industrial equipment, you will be able to blast about 1 square foot per minute, on average, to a depth of 3/4" on good vertical grain r...

John, Thanks for taking the time to shoot the photos and supply the text for this thread. Assuming you want to hear them, I have a few comments, not meant to be critical, but more to inform anyone interested. I see a few red flags on this project, even though the newly finished product looks great. ...

Rick, I like to err on the safe side and coat the board with the sealer. That assures a good grip for the stencil, especially after lightly sanding the high spots. On raw wood, it is easy to miss a little fine sawdust and get a weak bond. I found it was easier to sand off the laquer than it was to u...

John,
I would suggest just using Photoshop to colorize images and use Illustrator or Corel to create the outlines you later fill.

You can import or open an Illustrator file into Photoshop or use the clipboard to paste outlines or shapes into Photoshop.

Good luck,

Sub-Surface Lettering

My kids like to skateboard, as mentioned earlier. Over the weekend, we drove over to Boulder for a skate contest and later ended up at the huge Denver outdoor skate park. I went around the park looking over the signs so I could be better armed to talk to our town Mayor, city council members and rec ...

For 95% or more of our sandblasted signs, we simply bought a gallon of laquer sanding sealer at our local lumber yard and applied it with a cheap brush...slopped it on quickly. It is cheaper than some commercial sealers (First Step) and it dries fast and hard. (Also, we did not have to pay shipping ...

Steve, We've used rouge, spanish whiting, and even talcum powder. Overall, we use rouge most and even have it in a Pounce-See box. A quick, fine wipe will put a thin layer down. It usually comes up with a damp cloth later. Of course, the background has to be 100% dry and cured with any product. Mayb...

Hi all,
I like House Industries...I own quite a few of their fonts. They do a solid job of digitizing and kerning. One of my favorite scripts is the one in the House-A-Rama collection. The font is called League Night. The Sign Painters collection is also a fun one.

We have a Hand-See pounce box filled with fine rouge and use it occasionally for pouncing, but mostly to protect gold from sticking to the background. We also poured some in a small jar and applied it with a foam brush when needed.
