Re: It's Been Awhile

Bruce,
I am very impressed with your piece. I would love to do a version of my own. If the art work is available let me know. If not I will have to be satisfied with staring at yours.

Thanks !

Your right Vance, You totally busted me. My secret is watching youtube videos and opening big bags of chips while drinking mask quantities of cheap beer. You would be amazed at all the great bad info you can get on you tube. I basiclly deep carve sandblast all the outlines and drop shadows first. Th...

Re: Latest glass signs

Hi guy's, It wasn't a lower case i. It's probably the antiquing or a reflection blocking the I. Depending on what the art work looks like ,for instance if it's a large new clear mirrored background I try and use a commercially made mirror to start. It not ever going to get any better than that. Then...

I had one of those years ago and I remember the blade was always loose in the holder. Also you could only use it with a whole blade. Here is a photo of what I've been using for years.

Really nice work Jen and all so nice design Sam.Sorry to hear they didn't have your permission. If I were you Sam I'd be starting a dialouge with the company that is using artwork. It may take awhile but it may be worth it. Here one of the most famous cases I remember. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/R...

Re: painting on auto glass

It looked great for about 6 months until the clear coat I put over everything started to flake off and then it wasn't long after that the whole thing looked like n so I took it off. I I were to do it again I'd paint it on the...

In the pen pallet there is the Convert anchor point tool. it looks like a v on it's side. If you click that tool on you square anchor point and then draw it out the handles will come out ...

First oil based flat that comes to mind is a Japan paint but the pallet is limited. You could use one shot and add a flatten paste or power which is what I do. Fumed Silica is the powder I use.

The last photo you posted is a good example of a glass sign photographed well . I do think it could have some brillant...

Hi Bruce, Glad you liked the post. Here is the last mirror I just finished and man was it hard to get all the detail in and still make it look like it was a mirror. I had to do quite a bit of post Photoshop work to create reflections on the glass. One thing I have been concidering for awhile is to p...

Thanks for the post. I love her videos. I can't remember exactly but I think her name is Alicia. While her tecnique is crude I find it very important information for me. It is basically the same as doing a water slide decal only with out the need for the water sliding part.

I am told almost any paint stripper will work but I use a aerospace epoxy paint stripper that takes the backing paint off in a few mi...
