Re: Question about quils
Thank you Tim, Liquitex on Liquitex on gessoed 1/8 in mahog ply 1/16, 1/8/, 3/8 and 1/2 in lines. Padma, I'll take it you are painting a scape or scene that has some text that will represent signage in the painting. Lettering at that scale I think a small Bright would be the way to go. Have a look....

Re: Question about quils

You say acrylics that is a wide latitude of products from artist colors to enamels and latex. If you can give some more ...

The art glass looks nice.
About the easel... whats the logic behind the floating rods? Seems it would be easier to adjust if they were fixed together on the ends.

Re: Fast Gold Size
I've had good luck with Rolco Quick Dry Gold Size... just had to purchase a new can and from what I can see it's that same stuff I purchased back in the late 80's. Did a couple test came to tack in about 1 hour for copper leaf... 1-1/2 hours for gold... stayed workable for about 2 3/4 hours. Temp in...

Dave Hand cut... your symmetry is beyond and your little circlets are perfect. What type of blade and holder are you using? I think the colors in the secondary signs look good and reflect the feel of times past. One other thing the cuts next to THE on the Ginstitute has a iridescent green appearance...

Black Velvet On Gold?
Ok I've always used cotton as a burnish medium. I've read several places to use velvet. So are we talking Royal or Crushed? I went to the fabric store and there is a big difference between the two as far as feel.

Not trying to hijack the thread. Doug, I've had experience with some very old saral paper, graphite in color, leaving behind some residue. The box says it can be erased like graphite, but on 1shot it just doesn't work. Any tips? Simple Green work well for removing lines as well as wiping a rag behi...

Wow Pat that is awful... But don't go shooting yourself in the foot... if your luck is like mine you'll miss the toe and take off a good one . Larry... in the corners it looks like you did an inlay or could be copper leaf ( the little diamonds ). On the bottom they stand out... the left top is in slight shadow but looks like it's there but the right corner however looks hollow. Am I seeing it correctly or is it my eye's have not recovered ...
