Just buy the book http://www.amazon.com/Gold-Leaf-Techniq ... 0944094252
Experiment and when you have any questions afterwards ask on the forum.
There are too many factors involved, so it is better to buy the book first.

I do not know how Robert made his concrete, but I do know that you can paint your concrete with a black paint and then sandblast it photographicaly with a pre-exposured sandblastmask made by Pat Mackle decoglasspro@yahoo.com . You could send your tif- or eps- pdf- jpg- files to him and within a few ...

Having mentioned that, I would love...

Re: Replicating a broken white acid etched window

If anyone wants to build a tray like this, draw the plans up yourself and bring it to a plastics company. Think about the maximum glass size you want to work with, take about 3 inches of extra space all around. The inner height should be about 7 inches. I thought about how to lift the tray for easy ...

Re: Replicating a broken white acid etched window

My little niece should have helped me with the puzzle.
it took rediculous long to do the puzzle: three hours, who will ever pay those hours.
I had the tray custom made for me Danny, it was about 300 dollars.
I do my silvering and etching in it.
Merry Christmas!

Re: Replicating a broken white acid etched window

It was only a three toned piece and the design was not that intricate so I chose vinyl as the easiest way to use as the resist.
Key factor was being carefull withe the first white etching resist so i would not have to place it exact on the same place when cutting it down for the third tone.

Replicating a broken white acid etched window

Last week a client contacted me that her original pre second world war white etched panel was broken. After calling different glass installers in her region she heard that it was and could not be done anymore. After searching the web she found me and asked if I could replicate her family house treas...

A very interesting point here Dan. Let me start with my opninion that the biggest stealers of desgins and ideas are the mayor companies like Disney Sony music etc. Ofcourse this is a hit and run statement, but in someway it is true: If you go to the German castle 'Neu Schwanstein' http://1.bp.blogsp...

Ok, I was hoping you did larger glass also.
Somehow that is my favourite. Why? Maybe because it gives so many extra problems to tackle. Maybe because you can See the inpact more then on rounded glass.
And i like the final polishing very much.

The wheels look good. I agree that every comitted builder could help himself with a working machine. Except you need to know what you are making. Now that i have my own brilliant cutting machine, I know how to build one myself. The same with the wheels, and pulley system. Do you have some photo's of...

I know the Moser company. You have a real treasure there.
I also have seen this machine in earlier occasions in The Czech republic, austria and germany.
They are very rare indeed, but it seems this one is in good hands.
Nice oak table you have made for it.

Hello James, Looks like you have a great set op there. The model is made in Bohemiam style, maybe Spatzier or Merker. Inga might know this best. Doug,

It is a machine which burns holes in the paper by pulsing electricity.
As you might notice, the paper is attached on a metal sheet to conduct the electricity.
