These are "globes" for a vintage gas pump circa 1922. The artwork is the same except
the client wanted some gold in the design. The glass was allready slumped so I had to let the glue
thicken and then brushed it on. It worked out good. These are backlit so there was some airbrush work
involved to make things right. Of coarse anything gold won't light and the client understands that,
but the rest turned out allright.
Here is a picture with just the finished chipped letters.
Great work. Is this all hand cut, brushed or is the computer involved? Regardless of technique it is remarkable work for us to enjoy and a goal that serves as a great motivator to improving our skills. Bob
very nice work Jerry ! I would like to see the finished piece in the same bkgd setting and lighting as your first shot.........or is it too late ? Good idea with the thickened glue .
and we know the pictures do the real thing little justice.
next time I'm up in the northwest, where my brothers eat raw meat,
I'd liked to see that in person.
