Here is one of the two crests that I asked pricing guidance on a couple of months ago.
20" in diameter circle. The Trojan is 13" high and 1/2" thick.
The two took one week to produce. The trickest part was carving the letters as they went up the curve around the edge. The panel was pre-finished and masked.....therefore, I couldn't see the grain......AND....this was supposed to be Honduran Mahogany.....it was more like Philipine, with abrupt changes in the grain in streaks. In some cases, I had to change the direction of a cut within the same letter......just by feel. I guess that 50+ years of carving experience comes in handy on occasion.
