Some new motorcycle gold leaf..

A couple of motorcycle projects I´ve done after getting the new gold size from Gilders (http://letterheadsignsupply.com). I´m no expert, but so far, I have to say I like it better than the 1-shot fast size.. Still want to try the Rolco too, but I´m very satisfied with this one

A friends sportster:

Flaked blue, before clear..



And after clear to make the flake "pop"



And a rigid chopper a friend of mine built before he was killed in a tragic accident.. his fellow club members completed the bike and I pinstriped it and gold leafed it as we talked about when he was alive..

I´m not so good at faces, but..


He called the project "The Pinball bike" so added Pinball in variegated on the side..

And to complete the bike, I made a leather solo seat for it..


The bike is being put together right now, so I don´t have a photo of the complete bike yet.

I like the variegated leaf with a dark blue outline and light blue shadow against the flaked blue tank. Nice effect. I always find it a challenge to faces look alive & not "wooden" but I see nothing wrong with the faces you've painted. They look really appropriate in the minimal style you've used.

Your leather seats are so interesting. Are there many people who do that kind of work?

So sorry to hear about your friend. A project like this helps to bring friends together in his memory as you unite in a common cause - completing something he had begun while alive.

Thanks a lot! When painting or drawing people, I always try to choose a "cartoonish" style, since the lack of skills to make them look realistic.. but I´m practising

In US I guess there are quite a few leather workers doing this kind of work, but in Norway, I only know a few, but no one making as "many" as I do, but I´m sure there are some. I guess there are quite a few upholsters but not as I do, tooling the leather.

My good friend built a lot of custom motorcycles, and some of them are still being finished and some already done, in his spirit..
