Robin SharrardHi all,
I received my Angel Gild Kit from Sarah King last week and finally had a chance to try it out. I cleaned and gilded an 8" x 10" piece of glass and got a plenty sellable piece on the firt try. The garage was only 70 degrees tonight (about 10 degrees outside)-- a little cooler than optimum conditions. I think I can get an ever better solution gild in warmer conditions.
Thanks to Robare Novou for writing the book that allowed Sarah and her husband to become a supplier. Sarah keeps all of us from having to melt down the gold on our own!

Larry WhiteI've also done a small test piece, similar to Mike's with almost the same temperature although I think we might have a little less moisture in Nevada than Mike has. While I don't have the experiance that Mike and Larry have, I think it turned out as nice as a peice I have from the Conclave. Robin
Danny BaronianI've done 2 sessions, both successful. -LW
I've done 10 glass doors. First one I used leaf then Sarah's kit came. Made the job much easier,
saved a lot of time and was very consistent.
Have a lead nitrate kit to mix up from Sarah too. Expect good results from that too.
Nice job Sarah.

Thanks guys! Praise from Caeser, as they say, is praise indeed. Mike and I continue to work on the gold and I think that the lead has a future too. We want to try copper mirrors at some point but for now we are still trying to get the web stuff finalized.
Long may the Craft continue!

Sarah KingThat's a great looking residential window on your web site. Very nice coloration.

Ron, thanks. In Chicago in the 1920's this is one of the ways they used the Angel Gilding process. I reckon that there are about 120,000 windows like this in Chicago and more than that in teh suburbs. Most of them are in groups of six or eight in the front windows of Historic Chicago Bungalows - a style of brick house that makes up about 1/3 of all the single family homes in the city. I made the six windows in this house with Rick's gold. Before Rick, these windows would be removed because no one knew how to repair them. I would love to know if anyone has seen windows like this in other cities. I like them a lot. Sarah
