Art Book Picks Posted by Janette Balogh on November 29, 2001
I know that for many of us here, it's the interest for art that has led us into the world of signs.
I'm also pretty sure that many of us have accumulated some real neat finds in the way of art books.

I'd like to share one of mine right now. It's a couple of really handy little books about painting watercolour flowers. I found the first book on sale for 8 bux at the bookstore, and when I found book two on Amazon, I didn't flinch.

They are "The Flower Painter's Pocket Palette" by Elisabeth Harden, and Book 2 of the same title is by
Adelene Fletcher.

These two skinny little books will surprise you with their wealth of instruction and umteen examples. A whole lotta bang for the buck in them!

Anyone else have any surprising little "jewels" they'd like to share from their library of art books?
What is one of your favourite finds, and why?

"The Art of Rock" by Grushkin. This huge, historic collection of rock posters, has tons of psychedelic ones from the '60s.

"West of Camelot, The Historical Paintings of Kenneth Riley"

The book is out of print now, but really worth finding if you like western art, impressionistic style, great imagergy, and powerful design.
