While stumbling around the triple dub, I ran into this place that said they did commisioned oil paintings of whatever you wanted. Well this got me thinking... so i asked them if they could do me up a painting of an old factory.

Here's the interesting thing... the gal whose head of the comissioned art department replied saying yes they could do that. Along with her reply, she provided at least a dozen examples of old factory pictures from old trade cards, some in color. So I replied to her saying picture #9 would be perfect, done in the colors shown in picture #5. She quoted me a price of about $105 for a 24" x 20" painting. I said what the heck (I could spend that much on sushi) I'll go for it.

Well she has since replied with 21 photos of the finished piece! When I first opened the web page. I said...whoa, that's sweet! I haven't received the painting yet as they have to ask big brother if it's okay to send it to me. (The place is in the Ukraine.) This place has given me service like you would not believe! (I guess I'm used to that good ole American [non]service.)

Now as I look through my catalogs of trade cards, I can see a lot more potential ones in which I can apply pictorials. ...maybe someday I'll learn to paint them myself...backwards. But for now I'll keep making wall jewelry.

Hey if any of you know any interior designers, please pass on my website address to them, I'm running out of wall space and I've got a gold leaf habit to support.

The gal I dealt with is, Lesya Zhaluk, she can be reached at: lesya@artmam.com
