We sold a lot of CDs and had to expand into our new facility. We had the coast line dug closer to Jackson Hole so we could get our huge crates of CDs on the ships. The Tetons are in the background, but you can't see them anymore because of the smokestacks. The Trumpeter Swans can't be seen here anymore because they don't like the train whistles, but if you need a CD, give us a call! :)

Actually, this nice factory image came from a Baltimore Sash and Door Company letterhead from 1905. Companies liked to show their factories or large business fronts. I'm never sure if the representations are very accurate, but they are usually quite interesting.

Mike,
With these new facilities I think it's now safe to change your official title from "Proprietor" to something with a little more corporate "Snap" like CEO and Chairman of the Board and Darla could be CFO? What are your thoughts?

That cabin fever getting to you, Jackson? Feelings of grandeur? Must not be much fishing time lately.

It's good to hear that you are selling so many of the CD's. I'm selling a lot of copies, too - so I guess we are both making money.

It's only a joke, folks.
Mike Jackson - I am hoping for people to post new topics!
Hi Raymond,
Sometimes I get busy and sometimes I just hold back on making new posts hoping to give other people "room" to start their own posts. There are a lot of lurkers (silent readers) of this Forum, and I am happy they are there, but I'd love to hear from some of them from time to time.

I occasionally hear that people are intimidated a bit to post here because of the vast talent. I'd turn that around and suggest asking your question here (even if you are not sure if you are asking the question correctly) BECAUSE there are a lot of people that can give time tested responses.

A few other people say they don't do glue-chipping, acid etching, angel gilding, or some of the more exotic techniques and don't feel they have anything to offer. That is the group I would like to reach. We want to hear tips and techniques on things they DO. A few people making new posts can take the Forum in new directions and entice additional readers and posters.

This board evolves monthly, depending on who is asking the questions and what the kinds of projects and tests they are doing. Glue-Chipping has been the hot topic for the past month or two.

I try to make a few posts weekly to keep things moving and interesting. I see that when I get busy or stop adding new topics, the board slows down a lot. For the beginners...Ask the questions! For the seasoned Pros...Think about topics or issues you would have wanted to know when you were a beginner.

I bought a letter with this image on the oustide of the envelope and the factory scene on the letter. They were true masters of pen and ink at the turn of the century.
