We Had to Charge a Trip Charge

Darla got a job for the local school system to put the name of the school and the hours on the front doors of all the schools in the area. She did all the close ones, then had two which needed a trip charge. I could tell she didn't want to drive out to apply the letters by herself so I volunteered to ride along. She didn't need me to help since she had done eight or nine sets already.

The school at Moran Junction is roughly 35 miles from town, but is a beautiful drive any time of the year. On the way back, I had her pull off to the side of the road so I could jump out and snap this shot. I couldn't help think that most people would love to charge their customers a trip charge and have to look at that scene most of the way.

We've had quite a bit of warm weather since that photo a couple of weeks ago, so I am sure a lot of the snow has melted.

Mike, that's just about what we have to look at on our out-of-town trips down here in Texas. Well, almost...except for the snow, mountains, and trees. We do have a blue sky, though.

So do we but you have to be hard nosed about the business side, even though it is tempting to pay the customer to get to drive around the front range.

You folks up in Colorado and Wyoming don't know how good we Texans have it without mountains, trees, elk and gurgling trout filled streams getting in the way of the view.
