I finished the commemorative Conclave 18 piece that I was working on down at Rick's in February. It was kind of an expermental piece, and it came out pretty good.

A brief descrition: 1/2 extra-clear glass was cut out with a large nozzle sandblaster. Serated edge was added with a fine tip sandblaster. Background was glue chipped and left clear. The lettering was multi-staged sand carved, then acid etched and mirrored with Rick's lead solution. Sword was also depth carved and finished in leaf and bronze powders. The edge has been water gilded with rouge gold.

Rick's annual Conclave has always been an exciting thing to look forward too. I would start preparations in December. Out of 14 years, I only missed once. Many people only know me by the back of my head, cause I was always working. Rick's parting has left a void in my spirit which I'm working to fill. The only inspiration I could muster was to create a commemorative "Rick Glawson" sign. I've got it drawn and ready to start. I'll share it with you all when it's done (don't hold your breath, this one's gonna take awhile). Hopefully others will be so inspired....

Hi Larry.
I remember the edges were blasted. I to Have a Void to fill with the "Conclave". Maybe it is possible to continue with "THE FIRST BIG DADDY FINE GOLD" Commemorative Conclave during the same time peroid. Who knows what could come of that?
Great look Glass as usual you have the Subliminal lock in where you must look a second time. Very "HIP"
