Hi forum readers,
I received this note by email today and thought I would post it here for them and everyone else to read. I know this topic has been discussed quite a few times here, so maybe someone had a few minutes to go back and find some of the threads and paste them into a response for Al.

I am in the process of doing a carved sign in solid cedar...left natural. Before I gold leafed the lettering, I applied a sealer, primered the lettering, then gold leafed. Is there a "clear coat" I can apply over the entire sign? I would like to outline & shadow the lettering...but it's impossible to do with just the sealer. Any help would be great! Thank You....Sincerely AL SIMIONE, SIMIONE SIGNS
PS; All the carved signs I've done were always painted backgrounds
