I love getting the old acrylic brushes out and making "antique" signs.
Fast drying, easy cleanup and a matte finish. I used Behr brand Crackle.
I then scumbled a burnt sienna color for crack definition.
The riflr is all hand rendered.
These type signs are a blast to do!
I would love to see others work using house paint.
Wow Mark, Very nice repro type sign. Very nice effect with the crackle stuff. Was this simply latex painted first, then spotted with crackle in certain spots, then rubbed with oil paint into the cracks. Ive done a few of these, and they are fun. John
I've been steered into using acrylics, house paints, doing the work in tv/movies....and it's FUN to be able to work so fast, drying and keep on painting, heat gun if need be!!
Plus, now i get to have 2 separate sets of brushes!!
