Welcome Karen Souza

Hi Karen....Not sure if you'll remember but we have met a few times over the years. I took a look through your web page and you have (as always) beautiful stuff there. The only thing missing was an action shot, white glove and all. I'd heard you kept an imacculate shop but holy smokes! When was the last time anyone dropped a quart of paint on that floor! and it certainly IS a dream shop. Great to see you here as you will add "huge" to the talent on this site.

Doug,
Thanks for the welcome - it has been a long time -ahh Denver? Waco? Indianna? gosh can't remember! Your work is also still gorgeous as ever!
Have been busy as ever, but the body doesn't keep up as well as it used to. Seems to be a looonnnng way around those 18 wheelers in recent years.
Doing a nice mix of paint and digital - trying to MAKE my software & printers do the designs the way I PAINT them - I'm gaining on it! Thanks for the shop compliments - there is more paint on the floor now (but not quite a quart!) I'm thankful every day I put the key in the door - I worked really hard to have it.
How about you? What's going on?

Wow Karen - hi there!
Been a long time since we've spoken. When did you move to Mass?

Hi again Karen......I wouldn't usually post something like this so publicly, but what the heck. I too am working at my "dream" shop right now. Bought a plot of 25acres near a small town and still within range of the city, and plan to put house and shop there. This will be the last one for me and needs to accommodate changes as I get old"er". You know...a change in direction for the business as well. I guess I'm sick and tired of spending$$ on someone elses building and when I look back at all the rent I've paid over the years I could have owned any of them 3 times over. Right now we are dotting the i's with an architect and hope to break ground before winter...if not it will be next summer. There...now everyone knows. ...and I think it was Indianna.

Doug,
WOW! sounds like you've got some big changes coming - especially moving to the states! Sounds like you'll have a really wonderful place when it's all done. Congrats!!!
I'm just trying to get a handle on winding down alittle and maintaining. Mostly trying to get more time away with my best friend & better half, we're working on it. We're actually taking 1 WEEK off to drive down to the Dixie meet in October and then visit our kids/granddaughter who are also in Georgia about 1.5 hrs away! It will be the first time we've taken more than 4 days off at one time since 1987! Holding my breath till we motor out of the driveway!
Nice to hear things are well for you too! Keep in touch
Karen

No No No...I think Indianna was the last time we crossed paths....am stuck here in Canada as it is "my Home and Native Land". Holidays are an important part of life for me nowadays....I went 20 years without taking more than a week every couple of years and it made me lose focus. Now I get away as often as possible.... 3weeks last year and am going to do 4weeks this, in 2 week bursts. As in another 2 coming in about a month. It's also great to see distant places and as I have son living in Scotland the Letterheads meet at Stewies was perfect.....thank god I don't have any grandchildren...at least, that I know about. That would make me really feel the years. It's all the more evident as I shuffle about the shop carrying planks of wood these days.
