Recent Photos from Jackson Hole, Grand Tetons, & Yellows

Hello all,
In the recent post about the Blue Moon (two in one month), a few people said they wanted to see some more photos.

I spent a few days getting some ready to add to the site and quite a rew of them are now ready for viewing at:

http://www.tetonimages.com

I have a lot to add, but the new ones are mostly in

Large Animals (horizontals): Buffalo, Moose, Bears, Wild Horses.

Scenics: Vista Views

I managed to get a few moon set shots, but will have to add them later. Many of the animals are having babies and I have been concentrating on shooting them while that window is still open. I was out early photographing a coyote den this morning and got a few really nice images. I still have to post process them.

I added a lot of new Grizzly Bear photos from this spring. One of the sows I photographed heavily just attacked a jogger that happened by a fresh elk calf kill. In the past, she hasn't been aggressive at all, so it was just a case of him being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Lasty, a lot of people come to Wyoming to photograph the wildlife and scenics. Most seem to concentrate on the large mammals like bears, moose, deer, elk, and antelope, but I have been having a blast getting shots of the wild mustangs that roam our state. I believe I read we have the third largest count of wild mustangs in the states. They are really beautiful.

I just processed a couple of photos of the little coyote pups from this morning and added them to the Critters(horizontal) pages.

They appear to be about 8 or 9 weeks old.

Thanks for posting the pics Mike. I particularily like the moose and the coyotes. Maybe because we have them here. There is a den of foxes on my drive to work everyday. The 5 kits are adorable, but I haven't managed to catch them yet. Today on the way home from work there was a deer nursing her fawn in the middle of the field. Beautiful stormy background with low lighting. Unfortunately they are too skittish if the vehicle stops. I suspect you practice a lot of patience ot capture what you do.
I sure like the layout of your portfolio pages as well. Very tasteful.
I believe there is no shame in failure. Rather, the shame lies in the loss of all the things that might have been, but for the fear of failure.

Just tremendous photos, Mr. Jackson. Whenever I'm in a down mood, I just go to your website and get a big dose of inspiration from your photographs. It's amazing that as many pictures that have been taken of the Tetons they are still all different and new everytime.

How blessed you are to be able to live in such a beautiful spot.

Thanks for posting those, it completes parts of our trip. Your encounters with wildlife are so much better than mine, although I have a nice shot of a moose in the parking lot in Bozeman yesterday. We did see a cow elk and calf as well as many bison and red fox families from quite a distance. I need a better digital camera so that I can use the good lenses I have from the old 35mm.

Well I wouldn't trade California's year round weather for Wyoming, but to photograph, and enjoy the sights, smells and sounds you've captured within a short distance from home must be a treat.

Nice work!
