Pete,
The main mountain opens somewhere between the 7th and 10th of December each year. Out of about 21 years, I'd venture a guess they had plenty of snow on opening day about 1/3 of the time. Other years, only some parts of the mountain are open that early. By Christmas, we usually have enough snow to make most skiers happy.

Actually, there are three ski areas within our region, including The Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, Snow King, and Grand Targhee. You can get a lot of information about this topic on each of their web sites. The Jackson Hole Chamber of Commerce site will also have lots of information about the snow, mountains, and lodging. There are plenty of places to stay, but many start getting full around the Christmas week.

Hope this helps!

Hi Pete,
Normally, there aren't many Letterheads meetings in December, and especially so as it gets closer to Christmas. People get way too busy, plus it is a more risky time of the year to be on the roads in the northern states. Steve Shortreed stays up on the upcoming meetings at www.letterhead.com so you might check in on his site for any upcoming meetings around then. There might be some local Letterheads Christmas Parties in some states or cities.

If you come through Jackson Hole, be sure to look us up.
