3:10 to Yuma

I watched the new western movie "3:10 to Yuma" yesterday and enjoyed it very much. Much like Open Range, this movie has a lot of nice hand lettered signs and even some nice frosted glass work. The set designers and craftsmen did a very nice job!

Mike - Jeanne and I had a date this past weekend and went to see this movie. Most of the time I was asking "how did they do that?". The sets and costumes were first class. Someone did a lot of homework.

Do you know where it was filmed?

Hi Raymond,
The setting for the movie was Arizona, but who knows where it was actually shot. There is a famous movie set in Tuscon, but it didn't look like it was the place to me.

Thanks Mike. Since the title had Yuma in it, I was pretty sure that the setting was Arizona. At first I thought maybe New Hampshire, but then I put my brain in gear and came up with Arizona. Sharp for a Texas guy, huh?

Since many western movies are made in Canada these days I thought that it might have been filmed there, but I don't think Canada has any territory that looks that bad.

Yuma is an Arizona town, along with Bisbe. Some of the Eastwood spaghetti westerns were filmed in Mexico and some in Spain. There's quite a bit of information on their web site, but I didn't follow up on it.

According to the movie credits it was filmed in New Mexico and the railroad was the "Reader RR"
