I have cut some letters from 1/2" Sintra, PVC, which need to be painted but have had little luck finding the approriate primer. So what do you think?

Are any of you using an adhesive, other than the plumbing glue,to weld PVC to PVC or other sign materials?

I am looking for 4x8x3/4 Sintra for bonding to gel coat in a marine application. It has to bond to PVC chase tubing 2 1/4OD. Anything like that available? Regards.

Ti-Cote has worked very well for me since it was created to prime PVC banner material. I use the PVC cement for self welding and have only had success with silly-kone for non-pvc materials.

TiCote seems to bond well to Sintra. Enamels can be topcoated over the acrylic primer. It dries quickly and applies easily.

Hi Joe,
We cut out some PVC letters for the two entrances to a gift nook about 15 years ago. They were 3/4" thick with a cove routed into the edges. We primed the letters and edges with XIM clear, followed by block out white and a finish coat of enamel and gold in the coves. They still look fine and are holding up well.

You might want to give it a try. Maybe others have better suggesions, but it worked for me.

Good luck,
Mike Jackson
