Video Camera

Post by Raymond Chapman »

I'm shopping for a nice (I know that's a relative term) digital video camera to make some instructional CD's and DVD's.

My budget right now is looking at a Canon Optura 400 ($850) or a Canon Optura Xi ($1,100). I'm sure that the higher priced camera has more bells and whistles, but I'm not familiar enough with either to know exactly which would be better for my application.

Anyone out there have any experience with these two cameras? Or are there others you might recommend in that price range?

These two cameras are on sale right now from Dell, so that is one reason they are being considered. I have a Canon 35mm film camera and a Canon digital still camera so I am satisfied with their quality.
