Navigating the forum?
I've been spending free time reading the past posts on this forum, but because I'm doing it mostly in evenings, I'm on dial up at home and it takes a long time to wait for each page to load so that I can click on the next one in order to get to the middle pages. Is there some way of going directly to a page number if it isn't one of the ones "clickable"?
I believe there is no shame in failure. Rather, the shame lies in the loss of all the things that might have been, but for the fear of failure.

Hi Kelly,
Dial up, free time?
When you are in this format: viewforum.php?f=2 look in the upper right corner and you will see the first few pages, some periods, then NEXT. So you have a choice, but if your looking for a specific subject, the search tab at the top is the best way to navigate.
Mike made a post earlier in response to a question about materials. Out of curiosity, in my 'free time' on
DSL, I found the list he posted to contain some very good information, check it out:
Mica powder vs. MOP powder?
first glass / gold design
Saskatchewan Piece
Gold Leaf on Glass Workshop
glass sign sequence of techniques (?)
Dickinson again...Different versions of the same art...
glass panels- for newbies
Ghost town Letterhead meet...
transparent colors
White Acid
Gold Leaf and Sign Supplies Source List
White Etch
Acid Embossing, Very Cool Result
Hydroflouric Acid Cautions (great info in this one!!!!)
Abolone: Paua brocade
Gold Leaf and Metallic Powders
More Eye Candy: J.M. Bergling (big image)
Embossing Methods
Mica Powders: Photos and more links (general signmaking)
Gold Leaf and Metallic Powders
A Few New Photos from Dave Smith
ok, here's a tech question
Interesting Patent #494,999
A bunch of new Rick Glawson Instructions and Techniues added
Fine Gold Garage Sale...Any Updates?
glue-chipping on concave glass
Concerns about Acid Etching:
Bronzing Powder How?
Signmaking 101... Flash Gilding with Mica Powder
Screen Printing Acid Resist on Glass?
Angel Gild?

Thanks Danny,
But...I have been using the page menu at the top. The problem is that in order to access, say page 17, I have to click on 3 and then wait for it to load and then click on Next 14 more times waiting for each page to load which is very time consuming at 26 Kbps. I just wondered if there was a way to go directly to that page? I guess I need to bookmark where I leave off and then click Next I'm working my way chronologically through all the posts....albeit backwards.....I'd hate to miss anything because I don't know what term to search for.

Nope, not that I know of. You can type in page 17 in the search, but wether or not it's actually page 17 or not, I don't know, I don't believe it is.
To bookmark it as you suggested is probably the best way.
Ouch. I just saw the 26 kbps. That would be a wait. Like click on the page, go boil some water, make the coffee and wait a little more.

Kelly,
Click on any of the 1,2,3....24,25,26 pages.
Then look at the URL address at the top of the page.
You will see something like 0&start=1346
To get to the middle pages quickly, delete the 1346 number at the end and enter 888 or 999 or any similar number. I believe that will take you to some of the middle pages and once you figure out where you are, you can just adjust that number up or down on any new page reload.
Currently, #777 will take you to 15,16,17 out of 26 pages.
