A few months ago I was getting ready to silver a large antique mirror order.
While mixing my a,b,c solution that would be later sprayed I was having a real probelm with the a,b component of the mixture. When the "B" was added to the "A" the solution turned cloudy and grey.I found out that the distilled water I was useing was contaminated.
It was at that point I had a de-ionized water system installed in the shop and it cure the probelm.
Well fast forward to today , I happen to need a new clean 1 gallon bottle. You can't just buy an empty bottle so I went out and purchased a 1 gallon bottle of distilled water.Using that NEW bottle of distilled water to mix my A,B solution ended the same way it did months ago with the solution going bad.It had to have had some impurities in it.
The moral of this story is if you are having trouble with solution silvering, weither it be copper ,lead, gold etc. one of the first thing to look at is the water.
Maybe that the trouble with COORS.

Roderick,
As it was explained to me years ago, there are two types of "distilled" water. With everybody trying to keep profits or turn an easy buck you have to watch out for yourself. Apparently "distilled" water may be manufactured by either filtering (reverse osmossis" and steam distilling. Be sure that the supplier quarantees that the water you are receiving was steam distilled.
If you were not having problems with water that you yourself purified through your own filtering system, that may be because your system does a superior job. They may not be monotoring their results 100% and may be extending the use of their filters past their effectiveness to distill 100%.
