Nice piece Larry. It looks like that frame got some sand blastin' to raise the grain. Am I right?

Twill, I've always thought that men like us do sandblast
work because we can. Because we're better at it than
most. Well, it beats punching cows or digging copper.
Or soldiering. You can do it on glass, or wood, or metal,
get paid regularly...and you sort of know when to do it
and how. Like on wood frames....

That Lloyd & Magnus commission I'm working on...
Well it's comin' out real nice. I'll be postin' some
pictures of it before too long.

Yes please Larry.
I allways like your postings and input.
Reread some of your contributions on the forum and just wanted to say thanks again.

A shame I could not say this in person this late summer...

Hold on!...now just hold on!

I don't buy reverse glass signs, I make 'em!

So I've decided to part with this original Rawson & Evans sign I have.

As it's goin', Larry n' me won't have no need for such things at the slabs.
We're lighten'n our load. Am I right Larry, am I close?
Just the sun beatin' down at the slabs. It'll curl up yur ol' paint fer the wind to blow away, leaded or not, it don't matter out there.

I would never had sold no Rawson & Evans to no underhanded man such as yourself had I known he would sell it on the open market to some common horse thief. A court of law will decide in my favor and return my fathers glass piece to me. You will be left with nothing but your ill health and no gold pieces which are mine as well ! That is my last offer....

I tried to sell it back to you, boy.
Best make peace with your bad deeds....

Now, how many glass signs does a fella need?
HOW MANY?
I've got right around 150....most made from my own hand...
some made by some of my pelt wearin' trapper friends.

I do not know what is to become of me. I hope and pray
that I will not be slighted and compelled to go into low
company out on the slabs.

If you see my skull collection up for sale, you'll know times
are in a desperate way........

May the Great Spirit watch over you!

Aho!

Blake, you shine like the door of a boar house....

here is a window I gilded in 1994...
this was my second gold leaf window, no instructions, self taught, followed the Gold Leaf Techniques manual.

2012, the attorney had a name change,
this time I used the mask method, 1/8" black outlines first,
water gild as the second step

Tony, I like the original one you did in '94 better. Can't beat that hand lettered look. Good job!

Nice one Larry! I like the way the center boarder piece behind the portrait is offset to the left. Nice touch. Lots of dimension. Is that palladium leaf on the boarder with the circular patterns? Whats the size on this piece.

Thanks Bob.
This was replicated from an old antique toy catalog cover from 1896.
The frame measures 34" x 43".
The border you refer to is 18K water gild over mica etch with clear whirls.

That's a good size piece...the 18k makes a difference, really fits the feel. The mica etch with the pattern is awesome! Hats off to you Mr. White.

You're only wasting time, Blake.

I see your glass piece, and raise you one 36" x 30" gilded watch.

The 27th Conclave is now in the history books.
Here is last year's finished project, designed by that Blake fella.
I guess mine is the only one finished at this time,
nobody else brought theirs.

And, here is this year's piece, designed by Mr Choo Choo, almost finished.
Everybody will have to wait and see who will pop out with a finished and framed glass first.
