Post by Roderick Treece »

I am noticing that when I use one shot to back up mirroring it tarnishes it.Any ideas on that?

If you back-up your mirroring with OneShot, it'll tarnish. Use a mirror back-up. :D

One shot is an oil base enamel, the petroleum base could have a sulphur trace.

If you seal the silver with a light coat of aerosol Shellac, you can use back-up enamel or similar with success. After drying remove the Shellac from unwanted areas with a quick wipe of Denatured Alcohol, then use silver strip. This method prevents tarnishing. I have several cigar signs that used this method that are still good after more than 10 years.
