No, it wasn't me. That guy had called me a week or two before the auction wanting to know how to sell the piece. I think I could have bought it at that time for $500, but I don't have the budget for it right now. I suggest that he NOT try to restore any part of it, and I also suggested he give the National Sign Museum a shot at it before putting it up for auction. I didn't check to see who won it.

There is an interesting dynamic here.....
That sign was almost 10 square feet in size and it went for $500.
That's about $50 a square foot.
I'm curious as to what some of us would charge to reproduce that.
How much more than the 100 year old Rawson and Evans original would your reproduction be worth?
Something about this reality makes me sad.....
