Tinting white

Post by Steven Vigeant »

Or tinting anything for that matter. Denco is saying the tinting One-Shots black and white are not scheduled for reorder at all. I was thinking I should be using them from now on. Are they becoming discontinued? How useful are they generally and can you still get them somewhere?

Steve,
Kent Smith might be the person to ask on this one.

You'd have to find some of their literature to even know why they came out with it in the first place. I'd assume the two were supposed to be as neutral as possible, without adding in any color cast to another mixture if added to it. Some blacks would float or separate, never fully mixing in with the rest of the paint, and I assume that could have happened at times with white, but really people have been adding black and white to their paints for a long time without a lot of problems. The biggest one I ever really noticed was when you mixed black to white and sometimes ended up with a streaky gray. Even if I were painting a LOT, I don't think I'd sweat this loss in the product line.

Others can disagree and my feelings won't be hurt! :) Losing the LeFranc size would be a much bigger deal in my opinion.
