Stone Cutting movie

Post by Carol »

If you haven't discovered this yet, I think you'll like it.

Once I started looking at the folkstream movies I just had to limit myself or I wouldn't get anything else done. You are forewarned.

Enjoy!

Well thanks a lot Carol! As if I don't spend enough time in front of the computer.

Only watched a short portion of the clip you suggested, it looks very interesting, nice work.

That guy wields a mean brush and chisel. This is something worth putting into the iPod and watching later.

Very nice. Have to peruse the other titles too.

Thanks! Hope your doing well.

Hello Carol,

Thanks for the very interesting link. As Danny mentioned it's worth loading on to an iPod for several viewings.

Hope all is well with you. Haven't seen you in quite some time.

Hey Rod,

your not alone, does it here too.

Converting it to an MP4 and loading it onto a iPod works smoothly if you have one.

Check out the movie date, 1979 I think. Could be the result of a poor conversion for the web. Small viewer too, but well worth watching.

I'm using RealPlayer and have a DSL. There sometimes is a bit of chop, but not much. Danny's undoubtedly right about down loading to iPod first. I am downloading to my computer first. It's all magic anyway.

"It's all magic anyway."

Boy, isn't that the truth! Thought I'd never have need or want for an iPod till I got one for my wife. It plays viedos - mp4, never had need for that either, let alone understand what it is other than a compression format for videos. Has about 60 CD's on it, complete contact list, a few videos including the stone carving, all on a 60 gig iPod., which is less than 5% filled.

As Carol pointed out to me long ago, the iPod is also a small portable hard drive.

All that from a lady living on a farm, whose husband occasionally harvest trees with a draft horse, and owns an iPod. Magic indeed.

Back to the movie, I'm also on DSL using QuickTime, which is choppy until it's viewed with the iPod.

Thanks for posting that- Its brilliant and very inspiring,
I have watched it several times..There's something about the true craftsmenship and the excellence they achieve that just pushes all my lettering buttons at once.- Are they still in operation do you know?- it would be a shame if anything had changed in the 30 odd years.

Roderick,

"How much does a ipod eat?"

The rumor going around is that it depends on the model and exterior color, but it could be just another "Rumor".

For those that might like the DVD, from Frank Muhly, the producer:

"The price is $50.00 and that includes shipping.

If you send me a check to:

I'll get one out to you."
