Dave Smith's California Workshop

Post by Danny Baronian »

Dave Smith arrived in the states last Sunday to conduct a workshop this week at Larry's shop in Hayward.

He brought a glass piece for Larry White and Gary Godby. Dave posted close ups of Gary's piece on another thread.

Here's Dave with Gary's glass. The photo does not do justice to seeing it first hand.

It was fun working with Dave at the Dead Man, those gifts were top notch quality, as were the guys that own them now.....Working on the Acid etch problems was intersting but I think we solved the problems ....Great meet, good friends, great food! Dave & I are thinking of starting a comedy routine & packing in Gilding altogether...but that is in the future..........John

Still need to watch the film to answer that Larry. I think I was eating beans in this shot or letting them out.
Will need to get the cd you gave me converted to our format for playing on my dvd player.

Nice addition to Machine

I finished up my workshop piece, framed that sucker up, hung it up here in Machine. Nice addition. Thanks Dave for coming over and teaching us bushhogs some new tricks. You're not the mean guy people make out... that Dickinson, on the other hand, he won't help nobody! Now, to finish the Cole Wilson piece. You just keep on as you are, I'll have these finished soon enough...after all, it is Mental Health Day here in Machine!

Your lettering brushes have lain along time in your sign kit drawer...
Some believe they have been obsoleted by transfer tape,
But I believe they should be taken out and used....
Did you just do that last sign in vinyl?......SWM
