Resin Roller

Post by Dennis Davis »

At the workshop here in Boise, Noel and John use a resin roller to level the hide glue for glue chipping. Since Noel is out of town, I'll throw my question out to the forum.

Do any of you know where these rollers can be purchased. We don't have any fiberglass shops in town so the local sources may be limited. I've been to Lowe's, Home Depot, and Michael's craft store with no luck. The rollers look like a mini-paint roller only they are plastic (or aluminum) with no fuzz, just grooves around it about 1/16 of an inch deep and 1/16 inch apart; the grooves go from end to end. The roller sizes are about 3 1/2 and 6 inches wide and smaller than a dime in circumference.

Can any of you folks tell me where these may be available??

Thanks....Dennis in Boise

I believe there is no shame in failure. Rather, the shame lies in the loss of all the things that might have been, but for the fear of failure.

Just in case anyone hasn't seen the link, this page has a lot of hard to find supplies.

Kelly, James, and Mike...thanks for your replies. I'll check those references and see what I can find. I'm not going to try another glue chip piece until I have a roller in hand.
