Safety before everything.
The weather is starting to clear up these last few days and I thaught I would give the mica etching another try.
Well I did put on my Darth Erik suit and went for it!
Is it just me or do I look great?
By the way, blasting the mailbox will be next.
Sweaty and out of breath it went good.
Also did some chipping experiments now that I have my new blasting cabinet, but man what a work to cut the glue after it sets!
Now I remember why Dave especially wanted me to learn the mica etching: Dangerous, but not as labour intensive as the glue chipping.
Brings me back to the times I was a little kid and watched my dad cutting every letter by hand for stands at an exhibitions.
On my way to glass heaven....
Silvering will be next!

Darth,
While your new attire does cause one to chuckle a little, on the more serious side - that acid is very dangerous stuff and accidents can and do happen. It's nice to see someone take precautions even though it might look to be too much. IMHO

At least nobody's gonna get a call in the middle of the night from some crazy guy in a panic. Well maybe not.
