Centennial Mural completed with students help

Post by Pat Welter »

We just completed this mural for our town's centennial. It is 24 ft x 10 ft painted with Keim mineral paint on Komalu aluminum panels. The historial research and designing took 150 hours the painting took 170 hours. We were assisted by the senior high school art class for one hour a day.

This is the completed mural. We will be taking it down and installing it onto an aluminum frame outside on the wall of the lumber yard.

Pat wonders if he made the train too real. He used the single vanishing point perspective. When you look at the mural and walk from one side to the other it looks like the train follows you.

Creativity is allowing ones self to make mistakes. Talent is knowing which ones to keep.
