I've been a big fan of Illustrator, Aaron Horkey for some time now, and I wanted to pass this artwork along to you guys. Thought you all might appreciate the ornate scrollwork in the design.
The poster sold out within hours of its release.
Thanks for posting this, Gary.
This guy is amazing. I haven't been familiar with his work before but looking at the other examples online he reminds me somewhat of Rick Griffin.
This particular piece would make great glass piece with toned etching, carving, gilding all rolled into one. I wouldn't be surpriesed if William Blake took this up as a Dead Man challenge.
Of course, what does one do with copyright issues here?
Back to work.
Dan "The lyf so short, the craft so long to lerne." Geoffrey Chaucer (c. 1340 - 1400)
Sure would like to have one of these for my collection.
I've got these 3, the first is one of two domestic posters. There's another domestic poster with WB in the canoe. The second is a quite rare Australian poster done in a comic book style. And the third is the UK version. There's also some Japanese versions, but thet're basically the domestic version written in Japanese.
Thanks for the post, Gary!
-Aho!
These posters are already up on Ebay! $230-$300....kinda pricey for a 7" x 14" poster....maybe I can find one out in the alley....but I don't know....
