shipping supplies

Post by David Slade »

I would especially like to ask Erik and others living outside the US: Have you been able to import hazardous and poisonous materials? And how?
It has gotten even harder in the past couple years. I was refused even surface shipping on water based paints because they are poisonous. Maybe it is just Japan... ?

Ok then...

American suppliers are very scared of having troubles when shipping.
I tell them just to send it.
If necesary do not write on the box what it contains.
I hate bureaucration, but understand the dangers, so ofcourse I want them to allways ship it by boat.
It takes 5 weeks.... it is a pain.
If it comes to dutch customs, they do not see on the box what it is and I get it.
When they see that it is paint or what ever, the customs themselves also hate burocration and just send it to me with a smile.
As long it is no snakeskin or any other endangered species they do not hassle with it when it it is not written on the box.
Realizing we are in the 2nd renaissance of the arts.
Learn, copy and trying to improve...
Still in the learning phase ;-)
