Doug's Bernhardt carving technique

Post by erik winkler »

A while ago Doug posted some new photo's of his carving and woodwork:

I have a question Doug and hope you would be kind enough to show me how you tackled the woodwork of the consoles.
My next glass piece will be framed in a shopfacade kind of frame and I really would like to include two ending consoles in the frame.
I was thinking of using 5 sheets of wood with spacers between them, but maybe it possible to make a nice round channeled triglyphs by using a round router bit or something.
A flat tablet would not be very difficult to do, but a curved one with round channels by using a router is more difficult to tackle.

Thanks,
Erik
