1940's Slumped Headlights 1909 Mosley

Post by DAVE SMITH »

Made these two headlights for an old 1909 vintage vehicle. They were slumped onto a stainless steel ring inside my kiln and then gilded ,hardest part was heating the glass so that it would drop to the correct curve to the original mirror size, both then fit inside a brass rim .I made two also for my daughters for hand mirrors. Silvered them both inside a plastic bowl. Worked very well. These are half'' thick.

My posture is aching this morning Tony. This is what they look like gilded. The nips on the edges will be hidden once in the brass frame.
