I had some time lately to add a new client list to my web site and the first one we did was for the newest Ralph Lauren project that was completed. There is a link to the blog for some step by step info.

Thanks Vance,
I should mention that all the on site work at the two New York locations was done by Bob Gamach.

The chipping cabinet has a 220v electric heater inside , an old bathroom fan to circulate the air and about 12 of those small plastic tubs of dissicant to lower the humidity.

Roderick, I've worked with Dykale Dunkley on past projects for Double RL, including a store in East Hampton, Long Island. Double RL loves this type of distressed and vintage signs and graphics.

I had some free time today so I thought I'd post some photos of the latest project I am working on for a civil war buff in Pennsylvania. Right now it is at the stage where it is antique mirrored and outlined. The eagle photo is a sample of what it will look like
Just want to thanks all the great people on the East coast who seem to really love quality glass signs and mirrors. Especially PA, NJ and NY !

Just wanted to share a job I gilded today in the west village. The Goodwin Wine Bar and Cafe. Nice People, the space is kinda hidden but super cool, typical west village nyc. Will open next month. Door gilding was a 19" circle $600. 2 Side windows 30" wide x about 2" high $150 each. Transom number 4" high $300. Cant wait to bring my wife there for a couple of drinks on the house!

Wait a minute Bob. 150 dollars each?
In goldleaf?
Hmmm in my opinion your work is worth more. I would ask double...

Bob wonderful looking work.

Did you use Lemon gold for the matte center or size?
Sure I paint thing for my amusement and then offer them for sale. A brushslinger could whither en die from lack of creativity in this plastic town my horse threw a shoe in.

Hey guys sorry about the delay in responding. Thanks for the interest. This was a very simple straight forward job. A lot simpler than it looks.

Mr Tyler, I used 23k on the whole job, maybe I'll try some lemon next time around!

Vance, First I quick sized the outline of the 'G', surface gilded it then outlined that outline with black, then water gilded the center. So its just the opposite of a matte center w/burnished outline. (its a burnished center w/matte outline). No big deal! But it looks nice!

Hope that explains it ok!

thanks again for noticing!

The night before they opened, one of my clients emailed me over this night time photo of a job I did not too long ago in upper midtown manhattan (48th & Lexington)
This job was done in a similar manner as the 'G' job with the exception of there is a burnished outline (no black).

I finally got that glass to chip! I ended up using a diamond bit in a dremmel. I distressed the gilding and the paint. I did spend a little too much time wrestling with this one! But sometimes ya gotta do what ya gotta do!

Happy to say the mirror was installed on this past Thursday in manhattan. The pub is on E28th btwn park ave south and madison. Has alot more impact in person, it was hard to get a good shot. Just wanted to you guys see the finished mirror.
