P.C. Wright & Son . Signwriters, England

Post by DAVE SMITH »

Back in March I had workshop with a talented signwriter by the name of Andrew Wright who owns with his dad a sign company at Pinewood Studios in London.
Andrew and his dad and mum run the sign company that produce alot of the signs that we see in major movies like Harry potter, James Bond, Willy Wonka , Sweeny Todd the list is endless and the effects they have done and are producing for these films are amazing. It was great to have Andrew here for 5 days on a workshop and to share some great ideas for both glass and painted signs..... I designed the glass based on an old trade card with the wording Andrew gave me , once the sign was finished it was a present for his dad..

Here are some pictures from that workshop.

Yes it looks very good.
Seems that there was lot of handcutting involved before the etching could be done.
Again beautifull colors...
Realizing we are in the 2nd renaissance of the arts.
Learn, copy and trying to improve...
Still in the learning phase ;-)

Thankyou everyone. It was a great workshop, always learning new things... Andrew is a master at mixing Victorian colours... it's Andrew's colour scheme..
