New page of Poster Art images!

Post by Mike Jackson »

Someone wrote the other day about a Poster Art book. I dug around looking for this book, but I actually think they were looking for Wellington's Theory and Practice of Poster Art. While flipping through the book, I had a chance to revisit some of the nice color plates in a book called "The Essentials of Poster Design" printed in 1925 by the Poster Advertising Association.

There are 12 color plates on the page linked above. Each one is about 50k so the page will take a few minutes to load unless you have broadband. Worth the wait!

Old Signs and Walls

Post by Jack Lowry »

Thanks Mike for posting this, seems like I am lettering more walls now than ever before, guess they can't get that "sticky stuff" to adhere well to brick and such....

I always take pictures of "Ghost" walls in my travels around.

There is a lot to be learned in the old posters and the like, and lot of history there.
