Software to Design and Create Your Own Font

Post by Ray Skaines »

I'd like to take letters that I've created over the years and create my own font. Anyone use or know of an easy software to develop your own hand drawn letter styles?

Thanks
Ray

Hi Ray I'm new here and have little skill at lettering and none at all when it comes to sign writing.

Fonts however I can give you some help. I use Fontlab to create my vectors (instead of Illustrator). and fonts. I'm self taught, so I'm by no means a master at it. But if you need any technical advice I'd be more than happy to help.

You can get a 30 day trial from there website http://www.fontlab.com

There is also a package called Glyphs which I'm looking into purchasing. I've heard good about it so far and it's much cheaper than Fontlab.

If you need any help
