John GrenierThe sign painter in Roslyn, Washington (Cicely, Alaska) probably wouldn't win many sign design awards, but he/they certainly helped create a wonderful atmosphere for the TV show "Northern Exposure". I snooped around on Google and there are lots of NX sites, many with additional photos.
The show ended in 1995, but it looks like they still celebrate Moose Days there yearly. Many of the old signs are apparently still there.
I miss that show!

I've been trying to remember the womans name but it escapes me. I know that whe wasn't a signwriter, but a very talented and experienced scenic painter. She worked for Lexington Scenery in North Hollywood for a while. She was friends with Theresa Dringenburg, a great scenic signwriter who last I heard was working in and around Austin, TX.
Maybe some others can offer some insight.
