OLD FORUM POSTS
Hello again,
Today was "take your kid to work day", so Tyler "stayed home to work" here. I have been pretty busy with that all day. I sold a job that would be best if cut on a CNC router so I arranged to take it to our old shop to let him watch it run. They gave him a little cloth dusk mask like people are wearing in Hong Kong right now. He said he would be protected from SARS today, too.
Anyway, I have been a little busy to update the list, but I can post a few elements here for now.
Danny Busselle passed this contact along to us. You can buy all kinds of stained glass supplies here, but also the ladder chain, jack chain, beaded chain, rings and other similar items.

If you are interested in a good gold back up screen ink, try:

Look over the Fast Dry Enamel specs. Just call it "Gold Back Up" and buy any color you want. I have a quart coming to try out, but I am absolutely certain this is the right stuff (additional thanks to Danny Baronian on this one). It sells for $64 a gallon. If you need less, call Esoteric!
Last weekend, I went to a fly tying Expo about 100 miles from here. I have been watching for a UV light sensitive glue for a long time, but it seems you always had to buy a lot of it. Well, I was able to talk to a salesman about what I needed (for fly tying) and he gave me a sample tube AND one of the inexpensive UV pen lights. I pulled out an old screen to test application of abalone and mother of pearl with, but I think this stuff will be EXACTLY what we have been searching for. The tube of glue sells for only $7 and the light sells for $15 with 50 hours of on-time. The light sets the glue in about 15 seconds, but maybe more if going through glass.

You will be able to find this stuff on line, and also in most fly shops around the country. I will give a report on it after I try it out ona a piece of test glass. It is called Knot Sense.
More news as I get it. I will try to add some of these on the list ASAP (maybe by the time you read this!)
