Artwork for Kings of Leon.

Post by DAVE SMITH »

Excuse me guys I have not been on the site for some time. I have been busy this last year with many projects , hope alot of you are also staying busy with work and cool sign work. My family and i have experienced some great times through recent jobs from album covers to Whiskey bottles, the companies and the people who I have worked with have been so kind to us, it's been quite a journey this last year with friends and family. To be honest i never thought all this cool work would ever come my way, it's really special. This latest post is to show you some work i did for the famous global band Kings of Leon. They asked me to sketch and design the artwork for there new Single ( Beautiful War ) My good friend Danny Cook filmed the process over the four days and cruntched the timelapse down to 2 minutes and 50seconds.
Kings of Leon released this film today on there Vevo and Youtube channel along with there Facebook page.

More great exposure towards hand Crafted work and what we all love to do. Credit also due here for the end colour version airbrushed by Darren Wenzel based in Austin Texas.

Thanks all, lets keep fighting those digital machines! they can't beat us!!

Here is the film, turn your speakers up! Enjoy! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4FWB6WuT-3M

Very Cool Dave! Always love those time lapses because you get to see the process from start to end. Looks like the band really likes sign guys because they tapped someone from Austin to do a Neon Sign for another album

Sure I paint thing for my amusement and then offer them for sale. A brushslinger could whither en die from lack of creativity in this plastic town my horse threw a shoe in.
